I have had a fascination with Irish folklore, and the academic study of folkloristics, since my undergrad days in UCD. I had the pleasure of studying under some amazing scholars while at university, including Dáithí Ó hÓgáin, Bo Almqvist, Séamus Ó Catháin and Patricia Lysaght, amongst others. I now teach this subject myself, and am constantly reading, studying and searching for new avenues of enquiry.
Below you will find a selection of articles I have written on the subject of folklore. I also have a book on the topic of ritual animal sacrifice in Ireland.
